New York, NY 10009
USA
Price: $18
Come see my first non-solo show in 15 years!  And it's a musical!
Pan is a queer punk-rock diva, and this is her last concert! Or is it?  Her band can’t tell . . . Will the audience? While they try to figure it out, they play their set of riot grrrl-style proclamations on drugs, lesbianism, eating disorders, and taking up space. Get ready to smash the patriarchy, and maybe a guitar or two, at this bombastic all-woman rock extravaganza.

Bios for the comedians:

JULIA SCOTTI -- “Hilarious, powerful, dynamic and real.” “Like a comedy chainsaw flying through the room!”
These are just some of comments being made about this brilliantly funny, remarkable woman.

Julia’s high octane machine gun delivery, combined with her hilarious, groundbreaking, intelligent and thought provoking views on most everything have ignited a buzz all across the country. Julia performs regularly in Atlantic City, Vegas, Reno and comedy clubs everywhere.

In 2014, Julia was one of the winners of the Laughlin Laugh Festival in Laughlin Nevada, and she has been named one of the top 5 Transgendered Comedians in the country by The Advocate.

Everywhere she goes, Julia creates legions of loyal fans of ALL ages and ALL persuasions who just can’t get enough of this Crazy old lady of Comedy.

RICH KIAMCO -- has appeared on The Howard Stern Show, Wendy Williams & Bravo channel. He's been in the Boston Comedy Festival and opened for Louie Anderson in Las Vegas. His podcast WTY We There Yet? Is available on iTunes, Soundcloud and Stitcher. He's now appearing daily on BonkoTV.

JOANNE FILAN -- Joanne Filan has made her way around the comedy club scene, performing at well-known places such as The Friars Club, Gotham Comedy Club, Caroline's, Greenwich Village Comedy Club and more. She’s been seen on Here TV's Hot Gay Comics, Comedy Time TV, and in "Comics Favorite Jokes" in the NY Post. She is also a part of a new documentary coming soon entitled “Words: An Exploration of Identity”. Over a decade into the business, Joanne consistently delivers a unique “stream of consciousness” style of humor full of random thoughts and quirky observations that keep audiences either rolling in the aisles or on the edges of their seats, anxious to hear what she has to say next.

With an amazing gift for improv, razor-sharp wit, and a subtle delivery, she is an unexpected gem- a comedian so able to tap into the moment that no two shows are ever alike.

This month:

WAMPs is a bi-monthly (mostly) concert series of women artists and performers for Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Cysgendered and Straight women audiences. By women, for women. Essentially, if you self-id as a woman, you're invited..
Kelly Kancyr, singer/songwriter
Hannah Harkness, stand up comic

At the rebellious age of 8, KELLY KANCYR turned her first instrument—the violin—(her mother's choice) into a guitar, playing it like a distorted Les Paul. Learning in that moment that musical instruments don’t have to be played in a traditional way; a philosophy that lies at the heart of her style.

After taking a hiatus from music while she attended Quinnipiac College, a chance phone call from a friend inviting her to hangout and listen to a jam session reignited her passion. Working with a borrowed guitar, Kelly spent the next few months teaching herself chords, scales, and progressions. A year later she joined her first band and never looked back. It wasn't long before she was writing and recording original music and performing at venues along the East Coast.

Drawn to wide array of genres, Kelly finds she can change musical stylings as easily as she has moved around the world. Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell and Lucinda Williams, are just some of the influences echoing as undercurrents to her songs. In her vintage folk rhythms and emotionally raw lyrics, you can hear both the wide open spaces of Santa Fe, and the rocky beaches of the east coast.

Now 20 years into her career, Kancyr finds herself taking on the role of a mentor. Reflecting, “I find teaching the next generation of young musicians deeply rewarding. I enjoy watching my students begin what I hope will be their lifelong friendship in music."

Kelly has performed throughout the United States. Her music has been featured on television stations such as ABC-WTNH, and radio stations such as WNHU and WPKN. She is currently working on her first self titled album , which she anticipates releasing in 2016.

For future events please follow her on her Facebook page.https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kelly-Kancyr/159258207611462

HANNAH HARKNESS is a stand up comic and writer based out of Philadelphia, PA returning to the Pride Center for a second time. She currently hosts Comedy Death Match in South Philadelphia and Philly's Rocky Horror Picture Show cast, Transylvanian Nipple Productions. She has performed at several festivals and conventions including ReGeneration Con, Twisted World, Wicked Faire, and the Black Box Comedy Festival. She also is a co-host of a feminist podcast, Wait, Wut? Hannah's material ranges from geeky and surreal to bawdy and entirely too real. She holds an undergrad in Women and Gender studies, which gives her comedy an extra feminist kick.

Come to WAMP, the Women's Art & Music Performance Series featuring the SWIPPERS and Samantha Nokes!

THE SWIPPERS:

Standing in the wings of Summit’s prestigious Second Saturday Open Mic Night waiting to perform last April

of 2007, Joanne Calabrese and Laurie Swerlin were, well, bemused by all the kids diddling around with

expensive guitars "like they were pushing around mops." In that moment, The Swippers got their moniker

(tweaked delicately to avoid trademark infringement), and a longtime musical partnership was reignited.

Featuring Calabrese on rhythm guitar and vocals and Swerlin on lead guitar and backup, the northern New

Jersey-based Swippers meld the songwriting and folk heritage of The Indigo Girls, the ease of Bonnie Raitt, and

the jangly pop melodies of The Pretenders or Chris Isaak. Gorgeous pop songs about life and love--the delirium

and the lows, the seriousness and the absurd--delivered in Calabrese's rich tones make listeners nostalgic for

their own pasts. The Swippers, whose members have been rocking together under are clearly doing all the

pushing these days.

Standup comedian Samantha Nokes brings with her a dry, self-deprecating style and inviting demeanor

along with a boundless imagination. Moving with a slow methodical pace but with the knack for keeping

audiences engaged Samantha has a real love for her craft and enjoys talking with and getting to know

her audiences as she performs. Samantha says that she always enjoyed making people laugh long before

she every stepped foot on stage but that standup always seemed daunting to her. She was content just

being funny with her friends till they finally convinced her to try an open mic and she has never looked

back. So Follow Samantha Nokes on a journey as she takes you through the life of a 6’3 queer woman

poking fun at her identity her difficult childhood and her accidental career as a professional dog walker

along the way.
